Steve and Alysia on the stern of the Lois Ann after a dive on the wrecks!
WRECK ALLEY AT ITS BEST!
Steve and Alysia are lucky people. We will dive with them again! Why lucky? Because I've dived all the wrecks in the alley too many times to record, but this weekend was the best visibility that I have ever seen.
Normally when you drop down on the forward gun, you are lucky if you can see the wheelhouse that is 20 feet away, but it was all there and we must have had 60 feet plus of viz. It was so good that all the instructors on the boat agreed that there was no point in leaving, and we did all three dives, including the night dive, on the Yukon.
Steve and Alysia did a great job of managing a big new environment. The boat was busy with divers; the water was cold and jumping from the Lois Ann into the ocean is a very different experience from the lake. But both took it all in their stride and went on to do three more dives in Wreck Alley and the kelp beds on Sunday.
Troy Sievers and Steve Huff are becoming part of the back bone of the Black Dog Dive Team and spent time working with wreck reels, assessing wreck penetration spots, and then completing wreck penetrations on both the Yukon and Ruby E. Entering the hull of a wreck at over 85 feet is a great experience.
On the surface, JR and Anna looked after us. Nobody can complain about the food or hot tea and cocoa! I really appreciate the work that they do. Please visit www.loisann.com to see the boat.
I did not carry my camera on the Yukon dives because I was 'in class' and PADI rules prevent me from carrying a camera. But, I did get some shots in the kelp beds.
Thank you to the crew of the Lois Ann, Steve and Alysia Heun, Troy and Steve for a GREAT WEEKEND OF DIVING!!
